We’re offering a range of Online Programming and Workshops! We think this is a beautiful way to highlight the opportunities of Online Programming – bringing together participants who may otherwise not have met – fostering friendships and exploring the community at large. Stay connected to what you love and have fun learning, interacting and creating! Participants will receive live instruction from our experienced Instructors. Limited class sizes will allow students to meet new people and build friendships! We have lots of programs to choose from for all ages and levels. Join us online this fall!

Programming runs in 4, 6 or 8 weeks terms, with sessions held at the same time each week. Workshops are much shorter – running for only a week ot two – all details are in the schedule above and the programming information below. All times are Eastern Standard Time (Toronto). Fairytale Adventures : 4:30 – 5:30pm, Oct 19 – Nov 23 (6 weeks)

Grades 1 – 3 • $105

Have you always wanted to be like the daring Rapunzel, adventurous Cinderella, or courageous Peter Pan in your very own fairy tale? This is your chance! In Fairy Tale Adventures, we will explore the plot and characters of a new fairy tale each week. Using costumes, games, activities and a little imagination, students will become a part of the story – re-creating it with their own twists! We will even perform songs and dances to really dig into the spirit of the story. Let’s go on an adventure!

  • Participants will need a tablet, laptop or desktop computer and a reliable connection to the internet to connect with the group for the sessions as well as some simple crafting materials to participate in the sessions. All materials will be those likely to be found at home. Details about the requested materials for each session will be emailed to all participants the week before this program begins.

Fine Art & Design Studio : 4:30 – 5:30pm, Oct 19 – Nov 23 (6 weeks)

Grades 2 – 6 • $105

Unleash your creative genius in Fine Art & Design Studio! This program will be curated with the participants in mind. Our talented Instructor, Aaron will dig into the participants’ interests in the first session, exploring all the artistic mediums, options, opportunities and possibilities that interest them. From there, we will plan a program specifically geared to the group. From drawing and illustration to digital art, 3D art, and even photography, there’s no end to what can be created. Come and express your talents with us this fall in Fine Art & Design Studio!

Tuesdays:

Zine Making Workshop : 5:15 – 6:15pm, Oct 20 and 27 (2 weeks only!)

Grades 4 – 8 • $35

What’s a zine? It’s your very own self-published work. Learn all about zines, and make your own! Join this two week Zine Making Workshop to explore different types of zines and art styles. Learn how to make a mini zine, create blackout poetry, and make comics. With lots of drawing and writing prompts, and a big variety of zines to learn from there’s something for everyone! Bring your creativity to life in this workshop that teaches you how your own comics, drawings, jokes, stories, poems and more can be turned into zines. By the end of the workshop you’ll have your first self-published zines to show friends and family!

Thursdays:

Discovery Lab Science : 12:00 – 12:45pm, Oct 15 – Nov 19 (6 weeks)

Grades 2 – 6 • $105

Expand your scientific mind and discover how the world works in your very own science and discovery lab! By participating in fun, hands-on activities and experiments, participants will deepen their understanding of how science applies to the world around us. From explosive chemical reactions to mind-bending optical illusions to challenging feats of engineering, Science Camp has something for everyone!

Disney on Broadway: Musical Theatre : 5:15 – 6:15pm, Oct 15 – Nov 19 (6 weeks)

Grades JK – 1 • $105

Join the Explore It! team for Musical Theatre and become a theatrical success! With a focus on the love of the performing arts, we will explore areas of singing, acting and dancing while rehearsing. Taking the size of the group into consideration, we will work with participants according to their age and abilities to ensure appropriate attention is given to foster the development of both confidence and skills in this unique and powerful art form. This term, we will be exploring the magic of Disney on Broadway — with  a focus on unique and inspiring Disney songs from the past, present and even future shows currently in production. Musical Theatre has it all — from chorus lines to jazz hands, dance breaks and dazzling costumes – truly – what could be more amazing than a musical?!

Fridays:

Storybook Artists & Cartooning Illustration : 4:30 – 5:30pm, Oct 16 – Nov 20 (6 weeks)

Grades 3 – 8 • $105

Unleash your creative genius in our Illustration and Cartooning Lab! Beginning with an introduction to the elements of drawing– including character design, composition, perspective, and shading– our talented instructor Mirka will then encourage participants to discover and develop their own unique drawing style. Students will have the opportunity to create their very own comic or story book – enhancing creativity and learning alternative methods of storytelling and self-expression. Come and sketch, caricature, etch, cartoon and design with us this term!

Saturday Book Lovers Club : 12:00 – 1:00pm, Nov 14 – Dec 5 (4 weeks)

Grades 4 – 8 • $65

Join us in this book club for older readers for engaging discussion and creative thinking as we dive into award-winning novels, adventure stories, laugh-out-loud books, and poignant tales! Middle Readers Book club encourages you to voice your opinions and think outside the box as we explore related themes through group discussions and hands on activities. For book lovers and reluctant readers, Middle Readers Book Club focuses on engrossing stories for all.  Your next favourite read is waiting for you at the Middle Readers Book Club!
