“There’s nothing as amazing as a musical!”

From scripts and music to costumes, sets and more, the Explore It! goal is to give young performers a truly professional experience. In our programs, both personal development for each student and a polished performance for the group are emphasized. Participants rehearse with our talented crew and finish with live performances – for their peers as well as for family and friends.

“Frozen”

For the Winter/Spring 2025 terms, grade 1 – 3 students will be performing in this charming musical, featuring music written by the very talented Kristen Anderson-Lopez and Robert Lopez.

The story centres on the relationship between two sisters who are princesses, Elsa and Anna. Elsa has magical powers to freeze objects and people, which she does not know how to control. After inheriting the throne, Elsa flees, inadvertently causes the kingdom to become frozen in an eternal winter, and nearly kills her sister. She must sacrifice and show true love to save the day.

Rehearsals will run on Tuesdays, with a Performance Day in May. The registration fee covers a snack in each rehearsal, plus all materials, costumes, hair and makeup; and a performance package including tickets, a photo package and video recording of the show and more.

“Mary Poppins

For the Winter/Spring 2025 term, grade 4 – 6 students will be performing the classic: Mary Poppins.

In the musical, Bert, a jack-of-all-trades, invites us into the world of London, England in 1910 — and, specifically, into the dysfunctional home of the Banks family. Jane and Michael, the young Banks children, have sent yet another nanny packing, dismissing these children as hopelessly and irrevocably spoiled and misbehaved. With a father who works constantly and mother who is always distracted, Jane and Michael have suffered without strong caretaking forces in their lives. Then the magical Mary Poppins flies in on the wind, bringing with her a combination of whimsy, magic, and disciplined common sense to the children’s lives. Together, they go on memorable and magical adventures — and also learn the importance of a tidy nursery and of taking the medicine they need (with a spoonful of sugar, of course.) Mary Poppins’ transformational influence does not stop with the children — eventually, she teaches the grown-ups, as well, to open up and realize that “anything can happen if you let it.”

Rehearsals will run on Mondays, with a Performance Day in May. The registration fee covers a snack in each rehearsal, plus all materials, costumes, hair and makeup; and a performance package including tickets, a photo package and video recording of the show and more.
