A Holiday Sing-Along
Every Glowing Candle
by Bryant Oden
Chorus:
Every glowing candle can help the season shine
Every glowing candle, let’s start with yours and mine
Verse 1:
The days can be dark and the nights can be long
The cold can be harsh and the winds can be strong
One little candle might not make much light
But many together can warm the coldest night
Chorus
Verse 2:
Sometimes in life, winter is too much
Sometimes in life, we need a heart touch
Sometimes, we find others they need us
We can glow and let light shine through us
Chorus
Watching It Snow
by David Waggoner
Watching it snow through a frosted window pane
A blanket of white gently covering the lane
Whirling through the air, landing softly without care
Snowflakes dancing free, as far as I can see
Nothing to do
Nowhere to go
I’m happy here
Just watching it snow
Clinging to trees so afraid of falling down (Don’t be afraid of falling down)
Dressing the hills in a silver, snow-white gown (A silver, snow-white gown)
Swirling all around, spreading out upon the ground
Snowflakes dancing free, Is this the dance for me?
Nothing to do
Nowhere to go
I’m happy here
Just watching it snow
Where does it come from? Where does it go?
What is it made of? Does anyone know?
Each one is different, yet somehow the same
Are they like people, do snowflakes all have names (do they all have names?)
Watching it snow I see shapes like angel wings (I can see shapes like angel wings)
If I close my eyes, I imagine what she sings (Imagine what she sings)
Flying close to me, rushing back around the tree
Following in line, in infinite design
Nothing to do
Nowhere to go
Sometimes I wish I could be like the snow
But I’m happy here
Just watching it snow
Just watching it snow
Watching it snow
Christmas Cookies (Choir I only)
by Jill Gallina
Ooh I smell a magic smell, a smell that’s really yummy!
Now I feel a funny kind of rumble in my tummy.
We’re making Christmas cookies, you can see,
stars, and bells, and fancy shapes for you and me.
Roll them out, and cut them out, and when they’re finished baking,
we’ll just take a bite or two of cookies we’ve been making,
then wrap them up and give them out to say
“Hope you all have a very happy holiday!”
First, we’ll roll them out!
Then, we’ll cut them out!
Then we’ll put them in to bake,
just ten minutes give or take.
Cool them when they’re through.
Then we’ll eat a few,
before we give them out to say
“Hope you all have a very happy holiday!”
Colors of Winter (Choir II only)
by Amy F. Bernon
You may think of winter as only snow and ice
A windy, chilly photo composed in black and white
But I’m here to tell you that color can be found
An unexpected palette from the sky – right down to the ground
A red flash of wing as the card’nal takes flight
A deep’ning of blue as the day turns t’ward night
The steadfast beauty of an evergreen tree
(Colors of winter), colors of winter painted for all to see
Sure, the spring and summer have bright and shiny days
Daffodils a poppin’ and mellow, yellow ways
But winter’s a gift with so many things in store
A brilliant burst of color just beyond – your own front door
A red flash of wing as the card’nal takes flight
A deep’ning of blue as the day turns t’ward night
The steadfast beauty of an evergreen tree
(Colors of winter), colors of winter painted for all to see – for all to see
(Colors of winter), colors of winter painted for you and me
A Holiday Sing-Along
by Audrey Snyder
Deck the hall with boughs of holly
Fa la la la la la la la la
‘Tis the season to be jolly
Fa la la la la la la la la
Don we now our gay apparel
Fa la la la la la la la la
Troll the ancient yuletide carol
Fa la la la la la la la la
Fast away the old year passes
Fa la la la la la la la la
Hail the new ye lads and lasses
Fa la la la la la la la la
Sing we joyous all together
Fa la la la la la la la la
Heedless of the wind and weather
Fa la la la la la la la la
Dashing through the snow
In a one-horse open sleigh
O’er the fields we go
Laughing all the way
Bells on bobtail ring
Making spirits bright
What fun it is to ride and sing
A sleighing song tonight
Oh, jingle bells, jingle bells
Jingle all the way
Oh what fun it is to ride in a one-horse open sleigh
Jingle bells, jingle bells
Jingle all the way
Oh what fun it is to ride
In a one horse open sleigh!
O Christmas tree, O Christmas tree
How lovely are your branches
O Christmas tree, O Christmas tree
How lovely are your branches
Not only green in summer’s glow
But evergreen in winter snow
O Christmas tree, O Christmas tree
How lovely are your branches
We wish you a Merry Christmas
We wish you a Merry Christmas
We wish you a Merry Christmas
And a Happy New Year
Glad tidings we bring
To you and your kin
Glad tidings for Christmas
And a Happy New Year
We wish you a Merry Christmas
We wish you a Merry Christmas
We wish you a Merry Christmas_____
And a hap – py New_ Year_____!
