  • Build confidence, independence and curiosity.
  • Develop collaboration, communication and leadership skills.
  • Have opportunities to discover their own interests and strengths.

Above all, we want kids to leave Explore It! programs feeling proud of what they tried, what they created and what they discovered along the way.

Common Q&A for Parents:

My child is in JK, SK or Grade 1. How will they get to their Explore It! program?

We know that navigating the school independently can be a big ask for younger students! At most of our partner schools, Explore It! staff collect younger participants from their classrooms or designated after-school locations and accompany them to their program.

Exact arrival and dismissal procedures vary by school, and we work closely with each school to ensure students are safely accounted for from arrival through dismissal.

My child attends after-school care. What happens after their Explore It! program?

We regularly work with school-based after-school and childcare programs. At dismissal, students are released according to the procedures established with their school, including returning younger students to after-school care where applicable.

School-specific arrival and dismissal information is provided to families before programs begin.

Common Q&A for Administrators:

Our school community includes families with a wide range of financial circumstances. Are bursaries available?

Yes. We believe financial circumstances shouldn’t automatically prevent an interested student from participating. Full and partial bursaries may be available, depending on program enrolment and individual circumstances, and are handled discreetly in partnership with the school.

Does Explore It! carry insurance?

Yes. Explore It! carries $5 million in liability insurance. Certificates of insurance can be provided to our school partners, including documentation naming the school or school board as additionally insured where required.

Can Explore It! work with public and independent schools?

Yes. We work with a variety of school communities and collaborate with each school to meet its specific vendor, safety, insurance, screening and program requirements.

How do we decide which programs to offer?

Every school community is different — and that’s part of the fun.

We’ll work with you to create a program mix suited to your students’ ages, interests, schedule, available spaces and school priorities. Schools can choose from our existing programming, ask us for recommendations, or work with us to develop something that meets a particular need or interest.

Our offerings evolve constantly, so if you don’t see exactly what you’re looking for, ask us!
