Wednesdays

Crafty Kids Club

Grade 1 – 4

It’s time to move past two dimensional creations, into the realm of 3D! In Crafty Kids: Maker Club, participants will foster creativity through the creation of 3-dimensional art and craft projects. Using materials such as clay, textiles, paper, and wire, students will create through sculpture, sewing, weaving, collage and other creative processes. Well-known artists, and current crafting trends will inspire each week’s theme. Get engaged in a new dimension of creation in Crafty Kids Club!

LEGO Animation

Grade 3 – 6

Are you a “LEGO Movie®” fan, ready to transfer your creations to the big screen? Making a movie is easier than you think! In LEGO® Animation, students will learn to use stop-motion animation and become the writer, director and producer of their own LEGO® movie. They will explore all aspects of movie making, including storyboards, character development, set design, filming and narration. Use LEGO® like never before, in LEGO® Animation!

Digital Photography Club

Grade 5 – 8

Join the world of professional photography in this hands-on program! In Photography Club, students will learn what is required of professional photographers, working with the world around them to develop the skills required to create a beautiful shot. Each week, students will be provided with real-life scenarios, which mimic the many areas of professional photography. At the end of the program, each student will participate in the creation, execution and completion of a final project. Get ready for your close-up!

  • No Camera? No problem! While we encourage students to bring their own to learn on, we will have cameras available for students to use and borrow.

Fridays

Art-Rageous Art Creators

Grade 1 – 4

In this imaginative program, we’ll make learning about art fun! Through the introduction and exploration of some of the world’s great artists, we’ll learn about and then try out the techniques that lie behind their greatest works. Take your pencil for a walk in the spirit of Paul Klee, experiment with colour like Joan Miro, or explore lines in the style of Gustav Klimt. Join us this term and we’ll draw, paint and print together!

TinkerLab STEAM Engineers

Grade 1 – 4

Let’s get Tinkering in TinkerLab! This STEAM based program encourages curiosity and creative thinking through problem-solving, questions and hands-on experiments that explore art, science and more. Join us in TinkerLab this term to explore a world where Science, Technology and Art intersect – from Watercolour Explorations and Hanging Structures to Ramps and Marble Runs, we’ll Tinker with it all!

Canada Safety Council Home Alone Certification
